From a fruit stand to a country store
Fred Prewett opened Prewett’s Fruit Stand in 1974, selling Georgia peaches, pecans, Vidalia onions and watermelons on US-41. His son Garry grew up working the stand every summer, took over in August 2004 and incorporated the business in 2014.
Today Garry carries on what his dad started, and he hopes to hand it down to his children Derrick, Tevin and Ian.

What we’re about
Same family, same stand
We started selling Georgia peaches, pecans and Vidalia onions by the road. Today the country store also carries local honey, jams, peach cider and our own-label goods.

“This place was great. Peaches aren't in season but there were canned peaches and the owner let us try samples of them. He also gave us samples of many other canned items, and Pecans, that were all amazing! Definitely recommend stopping by this little gem on your way through Georgia!”

“I stopped here a few months ago for the first time after driving by it for years. And I can’t believe I’ve been missing out! We wanted to share some Georgia specific treats with our friends from Canada. And we’re excited to find muscadine cider and Mayhaw Jelly here. Both were a delight to enjoy! It may look unassuming but you’ll walk out with some tasty treasures.”
